Durin is a mining technology pioneering the resource extraction operations of the future. We are developing autonomous drilling technology utilizing downhole geophysical modeling to decrease the cost of mineral exploration. Our business is providing core drilling services to mineral exploration companies, enabling discoveries of critical materials. Our mission is to eliminate resource constraints on human progress.

Our engineering team integrates cutting-edge geophysical sensors with existing and in-house drilling rigs to develop performant autonomous systems capable of providing rapid and low-cost drilling services. The team iterates quickly, testing hardware in the field daily or weekly. Located in person in El Segundo, CA, the team collaborates closely, with all team members directly contributing to the core product.

Responsibilities:

• Prototype drilling components
• Evaluate forces present on heavy machinery and design structures accordingly

Qualifications: 

• B.S. Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Technical experience on an engineering team (professional or collegiate, e.g. FSAE, rocketry club, etc.)
• CAD skills and experience turning CAD models/drawings into manufactured parts (e.g. CNC, plasma cutter)
• Ability to think through engineering problems from first principles and develop solutions that can be rapidly tested
