Durin builds and operates automated drill rigs to accelerate mineral discovery.

Modern life, from smartphones to skyscrapers, starts as ore in the ground. But mines do not simply appear. Valuable ore is rare, so in advance, Geologists must explore, observe, test, and survey - a process that takes significant time and resources. Building a mine today is a billion dollar endeavor, so precise data is key. This is done by drilling hundreds of holes into the earth to recover cylindrical core samples in the search for valuable material.

Despite being a $12B industry, exploration drilling technology has hardly changed in over 70 years. Our mission is to change that. The first step is the development and mass-production of drilling rigs with automated controls and real-time data streams to increase safety, accuracy, and efficiency. Running the Rig

We are hiring a driller to lead diamond core drilling operations, manage crews, and ensure efficient sampling. You'll work closely with engineers, using your field expertise to test and improve autonomous drilling systems. This is a hands-on role with a direct impact on both operations and product development.

Objectives:

• Lead diamond core drilling operations, managing crews and ensuring efficient and accurate sampling
• Monitor rig performance, identify challenges, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement practical solutions
• Maintain high safety standards, productivity, and adherence to operational procedures in the field
• Contribute to field testing of new drilling technologies, validating performance and offering actionable input for improvements
• Keep detailed records of drilling activities, performance metrics, and equipment issues to guide engineering updates

Competencies:

• Extensive experience in diamond core drilling or similar precision drilling operations
• Proven leadership and team management skills in field environments
• Ability to identify operational challenges and communicate them effectively to engineering teams
• Strong understanding of drilling systems, including hydraulics, fluid circulation, and rig mechanics
• Comfortable working in rugged, remote environments while prioritizing safety and efficiency
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineers and technical teams
• Flexible and driven to adapt in fast-paced, high-iteration development settings

Compensation

This role pays $40 per hour as a contractor. We value expertise and leadership and ensure everyone on the team is compensated fairly for their critical contributions to our ambitious goals.

• Able to work extended hours and weekends when needed
